The Dallas Cowboys have had the bye week to consider making trades to improve their roster. Here are five potential trade candidates we’d love to see them add.
Because of their excellent roster, the Dallas Cowboys weren’t expected to be very active before Tuesday’s official trade deadline. That’s despite the fact a trade for wide receiver Amari Cooper last season turned their 3-5 start around, allowing the team to win the NFC East with a season-ending record of 10-6.
Despite that expectation, the Cowboys haven’t been quiet. Just last week Dallas pulled off a surprising trade with the New England Patriots for 33-year old defensive lineman Michael Bennett. The trade itself was relatively inexpensive only costing the Cowboys a conditional seventh-round selection in 2021.
And Bennett possesses positional-flex along the defensive line that should help Dallas mitigate the loss of Tyrone Crawford, who was recently placed on Injured Reserve due to a hip injury. It’s a move that adds valuable depth to the roster at a minimal cost.
It appears the Cowboys have been actively looking into making some additions to their roster before the deadline. ESPN NFL Insider Adam Schefter reported that Dallas was investigating a possible trade with the New York Jets for defensive tackle Leonard Williams prior to making the move for Bennett.
