We are 10 games into the 2019 NFL season, and finally, I believe the Dallas Cowboys have found their true identity. And no, the title and the face of this franchise is not Ezekiel Elliott, the six-year, $90 million man.
Quarterback Dak Prescott has washed away the ghost of Tony Romo. In my eyes, this franchise is on his shoulders. There is no longer a question of who is the king in Big D or even the state of Texas for that matter.
Why does that matter? Well, the Dallas Cowboys are on the road this week to face the Super Bowl champions, the New England Patriots. Prior to the start of the season, I saw this as an easy win for Tom Brady and company.
Now, I’m feeling a little different. Sure, the Cowboys struck out against three superior teams in the New Orleans Saints, Green Bay Packers and Minnesota Vikings. But things can be different if the ‘Boys ditch the Zeke game plan and follow their star in Dak Prescott.
