Report: Chickillo Will Not Face Discipline From...

According to Brook Pryor of espn.com, the NFL has cleared Pittsburgh Steelers outside Anthony Chickillo and closed its investigation into an alleged domestic disturbance incident in October involving him and his girlfriend. Chickillo will not face any discipline from the league, according to the Friday night report.

Chickillo had originally been charged with simple assault, criminal mischief and harassment after the Oct. 20 fight with his girlfriend at Nemacolin Woodlands Resort. Police said the couple got into an argument over table games at a casino that later became physical. The charges against Chickillo were ultimately dropped by the Fayette County District Attorney in early November.

Chickillo was placed on the Reserve/Commissioner Exempt List by the league after being charged and while investigations into his incident took place. He missed one game during the investigation and was reinstated to the Steelers 53-man roster after charges were dropped against him.

The Steelers drafted Chickillo in the in the sixth round of the 2015 NFL Draft out of Miami. He was re-signed this past offseason to a two-year contract and has been mainly used throughout his career as a backup outside linebacker and core special teams player.

So far this season Chickillo has registered eight total tackles and a half a sack. He recently missed the Steelers Week 11 Thursday night game against the Cleveland Browns with a rib injury but is expected to play Sunday against the Cincinnati Bengals.
